We come from different disciplines, but work together in a Faculty Niche Research Area research group called “Minority Studies/Marginalized Populations Studies”. Our focus is on studying various minority groups, including those defined by ethnicity, religion, sexuality, language, and more. We explore issues related to minority identity, well-being, and cultural production, aiming to empower these communities within mainstream society.

Grassroots Future

A Hong Kong charity supporting refugee-led initiatives and grassroots organizations to build capacity. Originating from the 2016 storytelling initiative Table of Two Cities to unite communities through food and address the practical and aspirational needs of refugees.

Justice Centre Hong Kong

A local non-profit supporting refugees, asylum seekers, and forced migrants since 2007, fostering a welcoming and inclusive society in Hong Kong SAR.

Refugee Union

Established in 2014 to connect refugees with the community, supported entirely by donations. Volunteers provide asylum advice and distribute resources to over 2,000 members from 20 countries, including 500 children.
