Johnathan Harrington is an Assistant Professor, based at Hong Kong Baptist University. His current research is heavily focused on board game practices, including regional board game design, board game production pipelines, and identity formation in board game communities. He also researches online player communities, with a heavy focus on play-based design as well as playing outside of gaming peripheries, such as protests, memorials, as well as displays of nationalism in game spaces. Outside of research, Johnathan Harrington is a game designer and developer, having worked on over ten different titles.
