Dr. Marija Todorova

Dr Marija Todorova is a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Translation, Interpreting and Intercultural Studies of the Hong Kong Baptist University. Todorova is an editor of New Voices in Translation Studiesand guest editor (with Kobus Marais) of Linguistica Antverpiensia (2022) Special Issue on Translation and Inclusive Development. She has published on issues related to crisis translation and interpreting, interpreting in conflict, and community translation in leading academic journals, including Translation and Interpreting Studies, Translation Spaces, and Linguistica Antverpiensia, and in numerous edited collections including including The Routledge Handbook of Translation, Interpreting and Crisis (Routledge 2023) and Translating Crises (Bloomsbury 2022) and the  Oxford Handbook of Translation and Social Practices (OUP 2021). She is the author of The Translation of Violence in Children’s Literature (Routledge 2021). She edited (with Lucia Ruiz Rosendo) Interpreting Conflict: A Comparative Framework (Springer, 2021). She has served on the Executive Council of the International Association for Translation and Intercultural Studies (IATIS) since 2010 and is the Chair of IATIS Outreach Committee.
