Emily is currently a PhD student at Hong Kong Baptist University in their English department, researching expressions of lateral violence between the underdogs of contemporary noir fiction. Her research will take an interdisciplinary approach, calling on gender studies, violence scholarship, socio-cultural factors, and crime fiction criticism to achieve her research project. Emily holds a first-class BA (Hons) degree in English from Falmouth University (UK) and a first-class Masters degree in Crime and Gothic Fictions from Bath Spa University (UK).
